Rear brake question. 120-130

Hello,

I have a rear brake cylinder that is leaking (I think...lots of accumulated stuff on the outside of the right rear backing plate), and am wondering if it is possible to determine which wheel cylinders I have prior to getting them apart. The car is a 1966 Volvo Canadian, but has limiting strips on the rear axle (which I thought were discontinued in 1965).

My reasons for this are, I can get a free brake inspection and have a shop look at the brakes. If it is as I suspect and is leaking then I'll have them fix them (small price to pay for getting the drums off!).

Is there a difference in the rear brake shoes between '65 and 66. I'm thinking that just because the car is registared as a '66 it may be a '65 that was purchased in '66.

Thoughts?

Craig
