National Parts / EZfindparts.com for used engine 700 1990

I'm looking for a used engine for a '90 740 auto car. Has anyone tried National Parts from the yellow pages? They also have a website ezfindparts.com that the operator on their 800 number said wasn't updated yet. I called twice and the second operator was much more helpful. He quoted '92,'93 engines with ~90k on them for $550 shipped with 30-60 day warranties.

I found several locally available engines. For a ~100k engine the price seems to be around $700. Price goes down to around $450 for 150-200k. I trust these places, they said they will do testing, and I have personally worked with 2 of them.

Is there some wisdom about National Parts versus local yards?

Also, what are the best years to look for? Avoid?

Thanks,
Nathan
