Quick ac question 200 1993

I finally got my 134 ac system to blow cold after a nice good recharge, but I noticed that if I flip my ac toggle switch off after it has been running for a while, the ac itself does not stop running. The only way to get the ac to turn back off is to turn the car all the way off and break that ciruit and then turn it on. Once it is started int eh off position I dont have any more issues with the ac being on. I was thinking it might be the little switch itself not registering that the ac was turned off, but wanted to get a second opinion before I go tooling around. Any ideas?

also on a side note, has anyone ever bought the keyless entry system from Ipdusa and installed it? I am thinking about talking that job and wanted to see if it was DIY worthy.
