93' 940 making sound like a screeching monkey. Transmission flush recently done. Can the flush hurt the trans??

My 1993 940 turbo has been making a horrible screeching noise lately. It sounds like a belt squealing, only worse. When you first hear it, that is the first thing that you would think, belt squeal. But it isn't a belt, unfortunately. So what the heck is it?

I hope it isn't the transmission. I recently did a trans flush on the car. I have heard that the trans can be damaged by doing the trans flush. I followed the instructions in the faq. and it shifts OK. This sound is very difficult to determine point of origin. It only does it occasionally, with no warning, and there is no perticular time when it happens, but it does seem to happen when accelerating, but not constant, just every once in a while. Any ideas? This is not the same weird howling that my 240 does in the winter, a definate screech.
