First Drive. 120-130

Hi Phil,

I checked the service manual and the lash is 4 thou, which is very tight. When you install the cam gear, you have to heat it in boiling water for 5 minutes as the bore is just about size for size to the cam shaft. Installing it at that point was fun as it was hot. Cooking it on the stove did make my wife ask a few questions, then leave the kitchen shaking her head. I couldn't get my feeler gauge inbetween the teeth to check the lash, but as it isn's adjustable, I figured it was OK. Also note, that I rotated it over a couple of time with a wrench before starting it and it seemed fine.

All the best.
Craig
