S90 Trans Fluid level S90-V90

Group:
I just changed my trans oil ('98 S90) for the second time. Just drained at the plug and refilled with new ATF. Put 2 quarts in knowing it would not be enough and I could add to the proper level. With engine running and stirring the stick through all positions, the cold level was about right. Then I drove it for a day, and checked it warm. Needed more fluid. So I added about a cupful.

Now it shows overfilled by a bit.

The question is, How sensitive is the trans to excess level? I do a lot of trailer towing (at least 50% of miles) and I do not want to be blowing oil out a vent somewhere. If I were to have an error, which side should it be on, too much or too little?

TIA

S'V'
