Remove engine and tranny together, replace engine, put back in together? 700 1990

I went to the parts yard today and the mechanic suggested I go ahead and remove the auto tranny along with the engine together. I agree that it would be hard to line the engine on a hoist up with the tranny during installation. I remember having a lot of trouble when doing a manual tranny on another volvo, I had help lifting and shifting it around, but you can't do that with an engine so easy.

The reason I'm concerned with disconnecting the tranny is alignment on the driveshaft. Is there any reason to be concerned about this, or other reasons not to remove them both?

Also the automatic tranny has some fluid lines that I'd rather not mess with... but if it's not complicated I'll deal with it.
