Are the original steel wheels of the 86-87 240 DL all that disadvantageous ?

I have considered purchasing mag turbo type 15 “ wheels to replace my existing stock Volvo 86 14 “ steel wheels. I have researched a good bit and in light of the potentials for brake concerns and the possibility of the turbo wheels being misaligned. The cost of wheel covers is not so bad these days and the prospect of something going out of whack has dampened my inclination towards getting the mags.
I also don’t mind the “family” type ride that I get at this time, rather than a “sporty” type ride.
Is there an element, such as inevitable, if it exists, out of circular depreciation of steel wheels that comes about ? Or a difficulty in finding 14” steel wheels if one becomes damaged ? Any other factor that I am not knowledgeable enough to know about on this point ?
You guys know much more about these things that I, so I ask, before settling on the new 14” tires, which I can still return, and the stock wheels.
