Generic brake question 200

Sorry for this but it's a generic question.

I recently replaced the front pads on the minivan (caravan 98 3.0)
Yes I agree it is a POS compared to both my volvos.

Anyway I installed monroe pads with a 3 year warranty on wear.
The rotors are one year old, straight, smooth and good. The calipers are perfect, no leaks, pistons perfect. Braking feels perfect and strong.

Ever since the pad replacement around 6 wks ago, the brakes stink badly after I park at home. Why?
Is it the pads that are STILL braking in?
Both left and right smell equally. They are not stuck, wheels spin freely when jacked up.

Sorry for the non-volvo question.

Thanks in advance,
