If you can look at the before and after pictures side by side, I'm almost certain that I put the top spring back into the same holes it was in on the original shoes. Perhaps I'll try another set of holes for more tension.

I'll be looking at it all again soon (after the morning coffee) and I'll try playing around with moving it all around as well as backing out the bottom adjuster another millmeter.

Would it be OK to spray a bit of P-Blaster solvent into the piston ends and trying to push them back and forth a bit?
