High rpm cold start and what oil weight to use for that? S90-V90 1997

Hi All -

So far the new2me 965 is OK. Due for an oil change, and I want some advice.

When first started, cold or not, the engine speed jumps up to 1500rpm, then quickly drops to around 900. Hot starts are not a worry.

Cold start, first in the AM, are a worry as I don't think there is oil pumped into the bearings all that quick.

I have the Mobil 1 10W-30 to go in at the oil change, but I wonder if a lower first number would be better for getting to the bearings faster?

0W-30? 5W-40? Houston summer temps very seldom get above 102F, usually highs are in the higher 90's.

Thanks in advance,

Bob
