People have mentioned that with Polyeurethan bushings, only IPD's are worth buying. I was not convinced, and I bought the slightly cheaper yellow poly bushings from FCP Groton. I installed them on May 5. Yesterday, I was giving my amazon a boost and I noticed that my 940's alternator belt was flipping loosely again. I recently tightened it to avoid this exact same problem (tightened to spec). Anyway, thinking that I had not tightened the bolts down correctly, I examined it further (once the amazon was going and the 940 was shut down).
The whole alternator is now a twisted on it's mountings and the poly bushings are a ruined mess. They clearly failed. This is highly disappointing. I'll still buy from FCPG, but NEVER the poly bushings. This failure is rediculous. a little over 2 months and less than 4000 miles before failure - unacceptable.
I ordered 3 top-quality replacement from IPD last night and they should be here in a few days. The FAQ is not joking when it says that only the IPD bushing are worth buying.
