Power Seat for '96 960 900

While cleaning the interior of my vehicle over the weekend, a plastic panel that houses the Power controls for the driver's seat came loose from the bottom/side of the seat. I immediatley replaced the panel however, the driver's seat no longer goes back and seems to be stuck or off the track. It swivels right and left when I hold the control in forward or reverse but will not reverse itself. Does anyone have a solution or recommendation for fixing this problem? DO I need to remove the seat in order to make certain it's back on its track?
