I'm reposting a new message to be more specific in case someone else had the same problem with their k-jet or can shed some light on my problem.
Mine's an 89 B230E with an AAV no lambda. It has a microswitch though. Symptoms are low idle speed on startup 600-700 rpm. It'll take somewhere between 10 to 20 minutes for the idle to come up to around 900 rpm as per spec. There is no fast idle on starting MOST of the time. Once in a while during a very cold morning here (I'm talking 25 celcius here) I might get a fast idle for say a few minutes the most. But it'll then settle down to maybe 700 rpm before going up to 900 after the engine has warmed up. Mind you this happens on the rare occasions. Otherwise idle is fine and steady. No misfire. Cars runs well when cold except that I get an annoying car vibration stopping in P with the idle coming down to almost 500-600 rpm. But car has NEVER died after starting.
On a cold engine the AAV is opened at the maximum setting (I've adjusted it). Haven't checked whether it's closed on a warm engine but I figure it would as a stuck open AAV wouldn't explain my idle issue. Or could it?
Anyway I'm open for any suggestions and not discounting the possibility I've missed or did something wrong. A step by step guide to troubleshoot my problem would be most helpful. Thanks in advance as always.
