Rough engine idle, low vacuum, diminished braking power 200 1984

Hi Mike,

Your failure seems to be caused by "wrong air" between throttle and cylinder-head. Have a look on the gasket between intake-manifold and cylinder-head. Let the engine idle and spray WD40 or sth. similar ("start pilot" or brake-cleaner work fine but be aware of the risk of fire!) onto the gasket from all sides. If You recognize a change of rpm and/or idling quality, the failure is detected.

I have the intake-manifold-gasket changed on my B21A several weeks ago. Rather simple work. Most time I spent taking away the rests of the old gasket, what has to be done perfectly, otherwise no succsess with the new gasket.

Regards from Cologne/Germany
Norbert
