Amazonian weekend 120-130

The "silentblock" bushes in the rear control arms are a pip and a half. I ended up sawing mine out and having a local shop press the new ones in.

The steering box can be rebuilt and the kit is still available, according to reports. Try the search feature. You can check it for excessive play after removing the tie-rods and the steering coupler. Any lateral play or longitudinal play is grounds for adjusting at the least. Radial play (backlash or "slop") might be able to be adjusted out with the screw and jamb nut on the top of the box.
Play at the output shaft (on which the pitman arm is found) can only be repaired with a new set of bushes. Play at the input shaft might be adjusted by messing with the thickness of washers under the lower cover... assuming you can find new shims or someone can make you some!

Mostly, you should check for the axial and lateral play and fix those to the best of your ability before messing with the lash adjustment screw.

My box had fine bushes and bearings and just needed new seals whick I sourced locally by taking the old parts down and x-referencing the manufacturer/number on them.
