Thanks for the input.
I'll strip both engines and cobble together what appear to
be the best parts from each and "the box" and then make the
decision I guess. Doesn't sound like there is a clear winner
for my case.
I have a nasty feeling that the old lifters are in a bag and unnumbered.

John; I didn't mean I never get over 3500 rpm, it's just that doing most
of my driving in SW Connecticut, local roads just are not very good for streching the engine's legs (congested, local authorities, residential etc). Unless you know a place...
