PLEASE HELP... strange coolant loss problem on '89 744T 700

Sending out an SOS :)

I am experiencing a strange coolant loss issue with my '89 744T. It all started about a month ago. I pulled into my garage and saw steam coming out from under the hood, popped the hood to realize that the coolant hose coming off of the reservoir and into the turbo had ruptured. No big deal, I cut out t the small piece of the hose where it ruptured and re-attached it, re-filled with coolant, and checked the system. The system was leaking slightly where I re-attached the hose to the reservoir- so I re-tightened it until it stopped dripping and everything was fine.

So, I've been checking the coolant level and it has not budged. Ok, so this brings me to the catastrophic failure. This morning I warm up my car as usuall and head out. About a mile down the road the car is fully warmed up, and I get onto the on-ramp unto the interstate. I am just about to nail the gas to merge onto I-95 and I look at the temp gauge- WHOA its completely PEGGED into the red!!! So I immediately shut the car off and pull over. Now, I get out and look under the hood and there is no coolant in the reservoir and it is pissing coolant onto the road. Shit. So I try to locate where it is loosing coolant from. It seems to be on the passenger side of the lower part of the engine block.

Now here is the strange part. I have the car towed home and jack her up and take off the lower heat shield to try to locate the leak. So, I fill up the system with water, turn on the ignition and turn on the AC. NO MORE LEAK!?!? I can not get a drip out of the area where I saw the leak roadside. Now I start looking for wet areas- it seems that the passenger side of the heat shield is soaked, the passenger side of the oil pan is soaked, and some cylindrical unit that is bolted under the turbo is wet? Strange. So, fellow Volvo enthusiasts, any ideas what I need to change out?

Thanks in advance!! You guys have always been helpful!
