Fan Clutch question 200

I have two 240's, an 84 and a 91. Both fan clutches seem to not be working. I had an 80 last year, and boy, you could hear that clutch kick in.

My question is.. is there any way to repair/adjust/clean the fan clutch, or are they both trash? I was hoping there was a way somehow. Both cars seem to manage without the whooshing when the clutch kicks in, but the needle does go north when in traffic on occasion when it's really really hot, and I'm in traffic.

The 84 radiator works fine, (it was in the '80 last year) and the '91 will have a new radiator installed this wkend. I did replace the thermostats on both cars, I know they are working correctly.

Thanks in advance for the advice,

Larry
