Hard start on 86 240 200 1986

Hi, I'm looking at maybe buying a 86 240 wagon and the owner says it sometimes just turns over without starting. He replaced the fuel pump,sensor in the dist.Can anyone give me possible cures? Before I buy a problem I can't fix or can't afford to fix I have a bad habit of buying problem cars and my wife won't let me forget that!! :-)
