Ignition timming/940 Regina-Rex 900 1994

Well, after several days of trouble shooting I threw in the wrench and took my machine to the garage. My previous post indicated a no start engine after disturbing the distributor after a timming belt change (long story). The Haynes manual directs you to jam the ring gear on the transmission in order to turn out the bolt on the crankshaft pulley. Well, I did and it worked but the engine wouldn't fire after re-assembly. It was explained to me that the Regina-Rex ignition system (distributor front engine mounted)uses a flywheel sensor to sequence the ignition and I must have bent something when I used the screw driver to lock up the drivetrain. The Haynes manual assumes you have a rear mounted distributor which doesn't utilize the flywheel gizmo. Just a word to the wise.
