Can I change the rear axle gear ratio? 444-544

My 445 probably has a 5.63 ratio. Im wondering if the gear set from another axle can be swapped. More to the immediate point, should I hang onto the rear ends from my parts cars before I get rid of them? [cars are 444, 544, 245] My car still has a way to go before it's on the road but I'm anticipating that a different final ratio might be an improvement since I should have a good bit more power. I'm not really prepared to go with an overdrive at this point.
