Starting problems-electric 200 1986

Hi everybody,
I`m having a startup problem so here goes.
Last week I went to start up my `86 245 B230f. Completely dead. (No dash lights no crank). Next day I go to work and get a new battery, bring it home and put it in, car starts right up, I let it run to charge up, shut it off go in to relax. A couple of hours later, I go to the library and then on for some Chinese food then came home and parked for the night. No problems starting while I was out. Next morning I leave to go to work-completely dead again. Come home from work and remove the alternator.Take it and the two batteries with me to work via coworker.I took the alt to get tested at a reman place that does alts and starters. Turns out the alt is fine, needle in the green. The brushes were good too. This problem occurred suddenly-there wasn`t any previous "fade" while cranking and I`ve never had a problem with the starter.
I haven`t been able to test the batteries yet cause we`ve been busy. When I removed the alt, all the connections were in order-no chafes and it was grounded properly. The pos cable is grounded properly on the fender, too. There was a bit of crud on the neg cable at first and there is enough fluid in the "old" battery.
I would suspect that both batteries are still good but they need a recharge and the old one I`ll have to test. (Its a Volvo battery).
My Question is what would cause this?
I`ve never replaced the starter, coil, or distributor. I have replaced the engine wiring harness, and the battery cables (both IPD).The battery is about 36 mos. old. I think its a 60-not exactly sure though.
The only other electrical quirkiness this car has is that the door locks don`t work and that the passenger side window (front) is the only one that works. The times I have to lock it, I have to take the no.8 fuse out so it doesn`t blow-sometimes I forget to put it back in while the car is running. I`ve never been able to get it together with these and I made my own tailgate wiring harness (via the BB)back when I was into working on this car.
Anyway, any advice would be helpful as to what to do at this point. The alt is good but I think the same is gonna happen once I get a good battery back in.
Thanks for your attention.
