6 Volt battery cable 444-544

Besides using the heaviest gauge cable you can lay hands on, check out your ground strap from the battery to frame, and also make sure the engine itself is well grounded.

A lot of slow starter problems can be traced to the small engine ground strap, which tends to be overlooked. I bought a tractor ground strap, which takes a bolt on each end; no battery post fitting. Attached to a clean (paint free) spot on the engine block and firewall or frame.

This setup may also help your headlights, depending on how their ground is run.

Good luck!

Steve
