Thanks, the pressure the fuel pump is putting out is definitely something to check.
At first reading I thought, hmmm, maybe you're right about the larger jets for the DGEV.... But, the jetting kits come with several of the smaller ones and several of the larger diameter ones and on some Weber parts websites I've seen the smaller jets specified as for the secondary idle.
Yeah, the 45 seems pretty small, but I'm somewhere in the right range of turns on it- I think 1-1/3 or 1-3/4 out at most.
I discovered recently how much of a difference the air filter and it's proper installation can effect things. I happened to notice the metal base of the K&N on the carb was a little warped and with the thin paper gasket the seal to the body of the carb wasn't very good. Made up a new, thicker gasket and suddenly my a/f ratio was very rich across the board. Air must have been bypassing the filter- stop the leak and not as much air got through.
May not matter, but there is an inline fuel filter (the plastic kind with a paper element) between the pump and the carb. Is that where a filter should be?
