Turbo Conversion 200 1980

I have purchased an 85 B21FT less the intercooler and have both an M45 4 speed and an AW71. The car has a B21 and an AW55 auto. My trans is trying to give up and will most likely be the first item replaced. What are the pitfalls of this conversion? I am concerned about the wiring? The harness on the FT is in poor shape and the original plug end is missing. My wife wants an auto but the standard sounds interesting. Is there any advantage one over the other? Is there any thing else I should have made sure to get from the donor car? Is there any guide to this type of conversion published? My wife always was asking for more power and I found the B21FT while hunting for the std tranny. Of course she is driving an 850 turbo now I get the 240.Honestly do any two Volvos have the same driveshaft configuration!
