Heater valve 120-130

I'm in the process of replacing the heater valve, seals etc and generally cleaning up rust in my old heater box. The copper end of my old heater valve has been coiled at some stage whereas the new one is straight. A few questions for anyone that is up with the workings of this piece of equipment. 1. Should I coil the new end similar to the old one? 2. Where does the end/coiled end fit into the box as I'm not too sure if the old one was fitted correctly? 3. How does the valve and heating facility/heater box radiator work? Appreciate any help I can get on these thanks.

Bilo
