93 940 Turbo OD problems 900 1993

I've replaced the solenoid, and relay, the relay mount is good, the wire (under the car) looks good, all the wiring in the car looks good.. the only thing i am unsure about is the plug at the relay under the car... it was an aftermarket unit and didn't match up exactly ( it fit but there is no latch). Is this truly a single wire, that i can make a new plug for, or better yet just solder it together? i have my new Weller Solder station i am dying to break in anyway!

And i KNOW this must have been beat to death but i am not finding the right answers (asking the wrong questions?) searching the archives...

forgot to mention, OD used to engage but if you got on it enough to downshift out of OD it sometimes wouldn't shift back into OD, now it never engages.
