clutch pedal sticking down 700

I've re posted this under 700's as Previous post says you don't have manual 900's in the states

940 estate 2.3 LPT manual gearbox,
Clutch pedal intermittently sticks down with temporary loss of clutch operation, if you lift the pedal with your foot a few times every things fine again. No loss of fluid on the system, have striped and checked clutch master cylinder, seems ok. When fault occurs clutch is engaged and car drives, so I don’t think the clutch is at fault. Suspect clutch master cylinder, but expensive to change when on inspection seems ok…. Any help would be appreciated…
