Experience with Amazon Running on LPG 120-130

I can´t account about lpg on amazons (just I´m on the process to convert my 121 to lpg - just hardened the valve seats now), but, when i live on Japan (postgraduate studies) on 84-86 I owned a Toyota Crown.

This car was originally made for taxi use, and due it, run on a butane/propane mix (like lpg). The car was 10 years old (very cheap) and was hard and resistant like the amazon (at least in comparision to other rice cookers).

Initially japanesse condisciples tolerate the old mob due I was a gaijin (alien), but after some time, they like it (big, easy to drive, long maintenance periods, never abandon me in middle of the street, kind of a limusine due the big internal space).

The big gas tank take half of the storage bay, but I goes to gas station only one time a week. No so fast as a Corvette, but in highway it surpass easily any sedan or station wagon from toyota, nissan, mitsubishi, etc and run head to head with a Mercedes Benz. In comparision with the japanesse cars of my friends, no difference on driving or power - and my car monthly costs was a third in comparision to theys!.

I´m convinced LPG is a solution for our Amazons, you have economy and at same time you beat the emission controls (a secondary bonus), also, the old engine are subject to less strain (by example, the oil remain clear up to six times more than with gasoline).

Some information about economy and advantages/disvantages of LPG can be read on http://www.wps.com/LPG/
