Installing rear headrests in '88 GL Sedan that didn't come with them... 200

I like the look of post-1985 sedans that have *four* headrests, but mine only came with the front ones.

I found two on Ebay, but I think I'm going to have to remove the rear seat--at least the back piece--to install them. There isn't enough clearance between the hat shelf holes (which I bored) and the rear window to get the posts through the holes that go to the trunk.

Has anyone here tried this?
