Ghetto tailgate repair - before & after

Not so bad! What holds the patch on, sheetmetal screws? And what did you use for filler/smoothing?
I'm getting interested in Fusor, the bodywork adhesive, for use in repairs like this and also for floor work on rusty bricks. It might be a boon to old 240s.
If you are still getting some exhaust sucked into the hatch, possibly the latch isn't tight enough to make a good seal.
