Independent Rear-end Swap? 700 1987

I found an '89 760GLE in the yard with the independent rear end. I thought about putting it in my '87 744Ti. Is the conversion worth it? How hard would it be? I'm not afraid of tearing my rear end apart but I don't have a press. I heard the independent rear handles much better and I plan on keeping the car. What else will I need? The rear, driveshaft, chassis brace, brake lines. anything else? I want to pull it this week end. BTW the car had only 140K on it.
