Thoughts On Electronic Pointless Ignition 120-130

Electronic ignitions have very little advantage over the old points system when they are in good nick, but it's incredibly hard to find an old dizzy that is in good condtion, specifically, funny wear on the cam lobe which gives different timing on different cylinders.

I've had no problem with my Crane & Bosch electronic ignitions & both are more than a decade old. I still carry points with me, because it's a very long walk beetween towns here in Australaia.

Powerful ignitions are really only needed for boosted engines when they are only 4 cylinders. Systems with knock sensors are a great way to run high compression engines on average fuel, but they are expensive.
