cooling problems ensue... 200

my 84 245 is still giving me a high reading on the temp gauge.

here is what has been changed:

3 row radiator, temp sensor, 180 F thermostat, water pump, engine wiring harness, & the expansion tank pressure cap. the fan clutch checks out OK.

after i changed the temp sensor this morning the temperature reading got a little higher, closer to 3/4 of the gauge.

i'm thinking the gauge in the cluster is screwed or i've got some strange blockage in the engine itself. the system has been flushed numerous times and when i turn the heater on the temperature reading will drop some.

anyone have some thoughts on this issue? try and R&R the gauge? i'm afraid of overheating this great running car and losing the head gasket.

thanks,
harley
