water pump debris in block 200 1988

I decided to take the head off the B230F I'm fixing up, mostly to get the exhaust side cleaned up at a machine shop. I was a bit alarmed at what I found inside the block, though.

This is looking vertically down into the block. Piston #4 is at top right, flywheel is at left. The draincock is at bottom left.

Now I'm stumped as to how to get all this junk OUT of the motor. My guess is that a water pump blew up at some point and dumped its guts into the cooling passages. Unfortunately, some of these bits are so large that I can't fish them out of the openings at the back of the block.

Any suggestions??? Thanks!
