B230A in America? 1985

b230a uses a single sidedraft Pierburg 175CDUS carb. The distributor is located on the block on all b230a's both on the 2 and 7 series.

btw there is no such thing as a b200a, but there is a b200k that was used in 240DL's, and as far as i know, all 740GLE's used fuel injection.

Your dieseling problem is probably someone that adjusted the idle without a clue. On the carb facing the manifold there is a brass screw. Cars equipped with AC would have a mechanism there that would open it to increase idle when AC was used. If your car lacks AC this screw should be bottomed out to close that passage. The right way to adjust the idle is by using the screw on the intake manifold close to the carb.
