76 instrument panel shell in 73 145 - few problems (long post) 140-160 1973

"Been having some problems with the brake failure switch. Always showed a
brake failure but looking in the hole with the switch out, seems to be OK.
I put in a different switch, same thing. So I'm not sure what gives there.
Any suggestions welcome. The piston does not move when you stand on the
brake, just stays in the center. Maybe 2 bad switches?"

Hi,
I'm not sure about that either but I have the same problem in my '72 142. I sure would like to know.
I have an entire system for the 164 installed, (vented discs, new fr.+ rear calipers, MC, booster,SS hoses) all new front to the rear, all bled of old fluid, everyhting should be fine. It stops great but that ligth just stays on. I've tried a second switch sender but no change.
I am wondering if that block with the piston needs to be rebuilt or changed?
I just don't feel like bleeding the whole system again.
