The piston does not move when you stand on the
brake, just stays in the center. Maybe 2 bad switches?"


Sounds like the slider piston inside is stuck in the transferred position -- one way or the other. I assume you had the switch removed when you stood on the brake?
If not, the switch will "latch" the piston where it is -- letting the switch turn the light on.
