This is a common problem.
It is dealt with thoroughly in the FAQ section.
I have spent a lot of time fiddling with the relays. In the end I bought a new one and the problem was fixed.
The relay is easy to get at once you remove the cig. lighter. (See message about 4 or 5 before yours in the forum)
