R134 or r12 700 1985

After frying for the last two months I realized my 740 had a 134 connector. I purchased it from someone that had all of the work done at the Volvo dealership up until the day I picked it up so I am farily confident the conversion would has been done but there are no stickers. Is there any way to tell? I went to walmart and picked up a can of 134 and the compressor runs most of the time.
