Tach wiring 200 1981

I installed a small tach in a spare opening to the right of the main instrument cluster; however, I get no reading from it.

The backlight on it works and I know that the tach works too. I'm 100% sure that I wired it up correctly and connected the RED/WHITE that hangs down behind the dash.

I believe that the problem is that there is no connection between the RED/WHITE and #1 on the coil. Where does this R/W go? Does it go into the gray junction box on the other side of the firewall? I think I'm missing a wire somewhere....

Thanks,

Allan
