Yet another Question 200 1989

I am having a problem with the tail light asymblies. (excuse the spelling) The marker lights are brighter than the Brake lights. At night it looks like the brake lights are always on (the third light functions normally. During the day the brake lights are very, very dim. Any insights into this problem will help.
