Too much oil? 200 1989

Exactly how much oil does the oil pan on a1989 240 hold. I've read somewhere that it was around 3.84 litres (does that include the filter). I'm only asking because I recently changes the oil with Mobil 1 which comes in 4.4 litres jugs here in Canada. The car now leaks oil underneath and I was wondering if I overfilled it. My car has 212000kms and i've been running synthetic for 160000kms. I usually check the pvc system once a year and have found synthetic keeps it very clean. Does too much oil cause too much positive crankcase pressure. Thanks.
