Idle problems 700

My 1991 740 Wagon 2.3 n/a started idling erratically a couple weeks ago. It was surging between about 500-1600 RPMs. I took out the throttle body and cleaned it, also, I replaced the Idle Air valve, because it was stiff. Now, it idles fine for the first five to ten minutes after a cold start, and then the idle consistently drops to 500 and subsequently it dies. Turning a/c on/off does not affect the idle speed at all(the a/c works). I ran the diagnostic codes, and got code 1-2-2. I thought that I had a Bosch system, but code 1-2-2 is not even listed for Bosch. For Regina 1-2-2 means faulty outside air temperature signal. I would greatly appreciate any help.

Mike
