Too much Throttle body cleaning 200

We have 2 1990 Volvo 240's both with over 150k and I have maintained them myself since new.
Over the last 5 years or so it seems that I am taking off the throtte bodys, large accordian hose and flame trap etc. and cleaning out "oil" that starts running down that accordian style hose towards the air mass meter. These parts are cleaned every couple of months!!! Why so much oil?

Is it just "old age" or is there something I'm not doing correctly?

I clean the throttle body and accordian hose and flame trap on the work bench with carb cleaner. It sez on the Gumout can to spray into the throttle body while running in 10 second intervals until can is empty. I'm skeptical about this process.....what say you?
