Anyone have experience with electric instead of engine driven fan? 140-160

On mine the sensor is in the upper radiator hose, which is the hot side of the radiator. I'm using a 180F thermostat, so I've got the fan set to come on only when that temp is exceeded substantially. I would guess that's around 190F or so -- it never comes on unless I'm stuck not moving for several minutes, and it always comes on before the gauge gets uncomfortably close to the red.
