who has experience with electric cooling fan instead of engine driven fan. 120-130

I'd like to know more about how you're gonna make this work.
My 220 had an electric fan that was strapped to the front of the AC condensor and controlled by a little switch under the dash. The original owner would manually turn it on when the car started to get really hot (down in texas). I removed the fan when I removed the AC condensor. I was going to install a flat motor fan from my 86 740. Sadly the old flat motor is seized up so I'll have to find one from a junkyard to play with.

I really want to put a secondary fan back on the car. I had a very "hot" experience caught in traffic a couple weeks ago and I had to turn on the heater and blower to cool the motor down to the green. I think a second fan in a great idea.

So, long and short. Good idea, I've seen it before, but only with a manual control. please share what you've done when you get it figured out.

Also... they say that a fiberglass wrap around your exhaust manifold will allow the exhaust gases to get out faster and allow your pistons to work a little less harder to pump the gasses out. This was covered in the Heat/Rust/Noise in VW's article (http://www.shagadelic.org/VW/info/gmbulley-soundproof/intrir1.html).
I picked up some wrap from a local performance shop, but I may wait until I get my engine rebuild going and use it on the new setup.
