Stall on starting when hot 200 1989

long time reader, first-time poster:

I've had my '89 240 (126k miles) for about a year and a half now, but over the past few months it has developed a little issue: When I have been driving for a while (~30 min) in warm weather, then I park and shut off the engine, if I start it up again in the next 5 - 10 minutes, it starts up fine - then immediately stalls out, and shows the Check Engine light. If I stomp on the gas while starting or immediately thereafter, all is well.

In trying to diagnose this issue, I have done the following in the last few weeks: new o2 sensor, tuneup (plugs/wires/dist. cap/rotor), new air filter... but the problem still remains. This weekend I'm planning on cleaning the throttle body and changing the fuel filter. I have checked the computer, and it isn't displaying any problem codes. Also, my mileage has been not-so-great since I noticed this issue.

Help me brickboard - you are my only hope!
