There seems to be door pockets available on eBay all the time. Various colors.
The black ones that were on my 1975 245DL and 1979 245DL never cracked, must be the composition of the plastic. With other 240s I've had, tan and blue pockets cracked easily, sometimes with just a hard look.
From a hardware store I found a "gang nail". It's a plate of galvanized metal, used to hold boards together, about 1/16 x 3 x 4 inches with lots of holes for nails.
I got some 4-40 x 1/4 inch brass round head machine screws, nuts and brass washers and attached the gang nail on the inside of the center of the largest and weakest part of the door pocket. No cracks in that pocket ever. I used brass to get close to the tan color.
I have also seen a wood slat reinforcement attached in similar fashion. It was fitted the entire length of the inside top of center pocket section. Used a brass machine screw about every 3/4 inch along the slat. The slat looked like a piece from a wooden yardstick. A little more unsightly, IMHO, but it worked.
The piece from IPD has a cross-section rather like a money clip. It is about the length of the pocket center section and it slips down over the plastic.
